Neck and chest

Sun protection for the neck, chest, and collar line.

The neck and upper chest are exposed repeatedly during everyday life: driving, walking, outdoor dining, golf, boating, travel, and time near windows or water. These are also areas where visible sun damage can be difficult to hide.

Poikiloderma of Civatte is a common sun-associated pattern that often appears as mottled redness and pigment change on the sides of the neck, with relative sparing under the chin. It is one reason neck coverage matters aesthetically as well as medically.

Design answer

A collar that belongs in everyday clothing.

Salt & Shade uses an elevated quarter-zip collar because neck coverage should look intentional, not clinical. The goal is a polished layer that adds sun-conscious coverage without announcing itself as sun gear.
